I am excited to announce that I have been selected to represent Team Canada in soccer at the 2019 FISU World University Games in Napoli, Italy. It is one of the largest international multi-sport events in the world, expected to feature over 13000 athletes this summer, from all corners of the world.
After finishing my last year playing for Queen’s University in 2017, I was invited to take part in training and selection camps for Team Canada over the past year. It is a huge honour to be selected for this team, and I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to represent Canada at my second World University Games, after having such an amazing experience in Taipei in 2017.
Unfortunately, at the current time, this national team is not funded by Sport Canada, and there is a very small time-frame to raise the cost of attending the tournament, which includes travel, accommodation in the athlete village, costs associated with the tournament, and a training camp in Portugal prior to the competition. I am hoping to raise some funds to offset the cost of attending, to make this wonderful experience possible.
