Help Bring Comerzol to Life
What if happiness came in a pill, packaged like an advertisement?
We're making Comerzol, a dark comedy film created as part of our Fictional Cinema Production class at Columbia College Chicago. This film explores the dangers of pharmaceutical dependency and manipulative advertising, brought to life by an incredible cast and crew.
The Story
After a car accident leaves him paralyzed and jobless, Jeremy Lockwood, a young man struggling with shame and financial despair, enrolls in a clinical trial for Comerzol. This revolutionary new drug promises to make "the bad temporary and the good forever." But as the drug takes hold, Jeremy finds himself hallucinating, trapped in a nightmarish series of infomercials where his life becomes one giant advertisement. As reality and fiction blur, he questions how much of himself is he willing to give away for happiness.
Why This Film Matters
In a world where corporations profit off insecurity and easy solutions, Comerzol examines the lengths companies go to sell happiness in a bottle. This film holds a mirror up to a culture that preys on vulnerability and desperation.
