No Barriers Foundation Armathon #RaiseToRaise
Donation protected
#RaiseToRaise - Raise your arms to raise funds!
The No Barriers Foundation in Donegal invites you to help us help local people with disabilities stay active at home.
We want to buy exercise equipment for our exercisers to get stronger at home and we need your support.
You can help by joining the strength challenge today.
The challenge:
- Do 100 arm raises (or as many as you can).
- Donate to the Armathon Fund
- Take a photo with your arms up
- Post it on social media and tag two friends and invite them to do the same.
Don't forget to tag @thenobarriersfoundation on Facebook and Instagram to show us your support.
Why Donate?
Every person who takes part is asked to donate €10 to help No Barriers enhance our services this summer. All money raised will be used to buy exercise equipment for people with spinal cord injury and other disabilities to improve their upper body strength at home.
The arm raise is a typical exercise we do in a No Barriers class, where most exercisers are wheelchair users. For people with spinal cord injury exercise is more than just fun—it’s a form of medicine.
If we raise just €200 we will be able to purchase resistance bands and weights for up to 20 members to get stronger with regular training.
What is the No Barriers Foundation?
No Barriers is a non-profit organisation that breaks down barriers to exercise and physical activity. Our team of physiotherapists and experienced health professionals works from an inclusive gym in Letterkenny to help anyone with a disability to get fitter and stronger - improving both their physical and mental health. Up to 50 people exercise with us across the various inclusive services.
The Covid-19 pandemic has put our one to one and group gym sessions on hold, but our amazing members have continued making progress at home via online exercise classes.
If you want to help No Barriers break down the barriers that Covid-19 presents, please support the Armathon.
