No Boobs No Pain! - Leonie’s Necessary Reduction

Heya, I’m Leonie and I’m raising money to get a bilateral boob reduction as my size 34H/HH boobs are impacting my quality of life greatly.
I’ve been struggling with chronic back pain since 2012 (age 12) and have been in constant contact with the NHS from the beginning. Whether it’s physiotherapy, MRI scans, pain management clinics or mental health professionals, I’ve jumped through all the hoops possible to get my answers through the NHS but they’re unable to find another cause for my pain and have put it down to the size of my breasts.
They referred me to the plastics team who assessed me for a reduction in which the surgeon said he’d support me and my case to the Mid and South Essex funding board who can grant me the reduction.
The verdict was I met all points of criteria one (summarised below) excluding one:
- Suffering from neck ache or backache
- Full evidence is provided of all conservative management options that have been attempted
- Has a serious functional impairment for at least one year
- At least 500G is planned to be removed from each breast
- Has a BMI <25 and evidence that weight has been stable for 2 years
The point I didn’t meet is I do not have a BMI below <25 or evidence my weight has been stable for 2 years. This is because with my chronic back pain I struggle to exercise and keep the weight off. In addition to this, I’m on medication which causes weight gain, a side effect I wasn’t told before hand. It’s a vicious cycle I haven’t been able to beat, in the times I have been successful in losing some weight, after getting remeasured the result has always been my chest size is the same or in some cases larger than previous times measured.
I have lost my freedom and the ability to work. I studied animal management in college but haven’t been able to do anything with it due to the pain getting so debilitating. I rarely go out which affects my mental health. I am on multiple medication a day so my large chest size is constantly in the forefront of my mind
Thank you so much for reading and potentially contributing to my cause, this reduction will help alleviate my pain, I would be grateful for any amount as it will truly help my life.
[Anything that doesn’t go directly towards my boob reduction itself will go towards aftercare]
