No Girl Forgotten

Hello, My name is Alicia Marcos Birong, and I am setting up this GoFund Me in memory of my friend Bernard P. Boyle.

Bernie was a loving and supportive husband and father to his wife and children and was like a father to Alicia and many others.

He was an accomplished carver and artist, with one of his pieces displayed in the Dole Mansion. He believed in supporting those in need and was a regular volunteer at his local food pantry and church.

His daughters remember him being an avid supporter of their education, pushing them to be the best they could be as well as becoming independent and successful women.

Bernie believed that girls are just as powerful and influential as boys and supported Alicia's after-school program, ChatterGirls.

He believed in her vision for changing girls' lives and ensured that all local girls who wanted to attend ChatterGirls received the funds to participate.

The Changing the Chatter: Celebrating ChatterGirls program goes beyond the limits and boundaries of the average public education system to assist young girls in developing life skills for becoming confident, strong women.

ChatterGirls is about Celebrating, Happy, Aspiring, Truthful, Thoughtful, Empowered, Responsible Girls.

Established in 2013, ChatterGirls has reached hundreds of families across several states and is in the process of going National and Global. In 2014, Bernie nominated Alicia Birong for the Hero's Award for her program, ChatterGirls.

The program wouldn't be where it is today as an after-school program without our true heroes, Bernie and Betty.

In honor of his passing and prominent legacy, we ask that any donations in his memory be made to Guided Choices Inc. or Alicia Birong. We believe that He would have wanted his legacy carried on and for every girl to be able to attend and become an empowered ChatterGirl.
