MISSION STATEMENT
To encourage and support continuous improvements in the education system of Quebec and the distribution of its benefits for the greatest good of all the citizens of Quebec, and in particular to develop educational programs and provide services for the diverse and multicultural communities of Quebec to give them the greatest opportunity for maximizing their educational attainment and excellence in their psycho-social and socio-economic achievements.
No Student Left Behind!
My name is Alix Adrien and I am the president of the Quebec Board of Black Educators better known as the QBBE. The QBBE implements educational programs that promote excellence in education within and outside the formal Quebec educational system. We organize and operate tutorial and enrichment programs aimed at developing self-esteem and improving academic and life skill deficiencies.
In addition, our goal is to prevent our multicultural & diverse communities from being left behind, and ensure that there is an equitable distribution of services and resources for neglected communities. As COVID-19 continues to spread, the 2020 school season prematurely ended March 15th. The regular school season will resume in September whether in the classroom or online.
Beyond the global health crisis, there will be long term economic, financial and educational hardships that will be felt by all, but most severely in communities of colour. The coronavirus outbreak is having and will continue to have a negative impact on the education of our already at-risk youth. Ensuring the continuity of our programs, we are committed to continuing the DaCosta Hall and Bana summer schools. In addition, we need to step up and make sure that we meet the post-pandemic emerging needs of the community and ensure that our students will have access to online learning and tutoring.
In order to do this, the QBBE has to expand its services and program capacities
to include an online platform.
I come to you today to personally ask for your help to meet the needs of our kids and of our communities post Covid-19. That is why, on behalf of the QBBE, I have launched the No Student Left Behind GoFundMe campaign to raise $50,000cad to prevent our students from falling behind.
Thankfully, we ALL have the power to do something special and make a difference.
I ask you to join me in this campaign and not leave any student behind.
We can do this!
