NO to 5500 E Yale

The Yale Neighborhood Alliance supports much of the mayor's plan to build more affordable housing in Denver but we do not support the proposed micro community at 5500 E Yale Ave, Denver, CO.

The Yale Neighborhood Alliance's vision is to collaborate with the the 5500 property owners, Arapahoe City Commissioner, District 4 City Councilperson, and Denver Mayor to align on city planning. Our goal is to create a plan that benefits the city, the county, and the neighborhood. 5500 E. Yale is not the suitable location for the proposed micro-community due to the infrastructure operating at maximum capacity with limited ability to accommodate further demands on the corridor and its surrounding neighborhoods. According to the City of Denver’s own reports in 2020 and 2021, there were more than 25,000 cars that used Yale daily. The city has only continued to grow since then. This location will cause undue stress to this community. With dead-end roads and minimal through traffic, this site risks trapping residents in their neighborhoods. The site will almost assuredly increase the likelihood of traffic accidents and fatalities. We are looking for support to fight this proposed site location!

Yale Neighborhood Alliance shall use its funds only to accomplish the purposes stated in its bylaws. Upon the winding up and dissolution of this corporation, after paying or adequately providing for the debts and obligations of the organization, the remaining assets shall be distributed to, and only to, one or more charitable or social welfare organizations.
