Noa Mack

Noa (12 years old) is the daughter of Michelle Mack, Quality Administrator for Texas Pipe & Supply Houston. For the last couple of weeks, Michelle has taken Noa to urgent care facilities, 3 hospitals and seen several doctors pleading with all to take a closer look at Noa’s deteriorating condition.
Fourteen days later, Noa is finally getting the care she needs at Texas Children's Hospital. Noa’s initial diagnosis was cancer. Thankfully, that diagnosis was incorrect. After additional testing, she was finally diagnosed with Hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS), which can mimic cancer in the way it destroys healthy cells in the body. HUS is a condition caused by the abnormal destruction of red blood cells. The damaged red blood cells clogged the filtering system in her kidneys, this can lead to life-threatening kidney failure. There are several different infections that can cause HUS. The source for Noa’s HUS was found to be E. coli. By the time it was correctly diagnosed it had taken over her body. Noa's kidneys were only functioning at 20% while her red blood cells and platelets were critically low. Her hospital stay can be up to 4 more weeks with treatments including more blood transfusions and dialysis.
Noa’s road to recovery will be a long and costly journey. Many of you have come forward asking, ' ...how can I help?' Here's your chance to show Michelle what it means to be part of the Texas Pipe & Supply family.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
