Noah’s T1D diagnosis

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Brini Delgado and on Monday, April 3rd my best friend’s 1 year old son Noah was rushed to Brenners Childrens Hospital after a normal doctor appointment because his glucose was over 500. By the time they got there it was over 600 and he was in DKA Diabetic ketoacidosis and they took them straight to the Pediatric ICU and began giving him fluids and insulin through IVs. (DKA is when your body doesn’t have enough insulin and the body starts producing excess blood acid. It’s life threatening and can also lead to a diabetic coma.)

Noah was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It is genetic and there is no cure. He will now have to take 2 different types of insulin injections every day to control his blood sugar.

His mom is a stay at home mom and his dad is out of work right now while they’re getting home and trying to process, adjust, and figure out their new life and how to care for him with his new life changing diagnosis. I know that the diagnosis alone is already so overwhelming and happened so fast and between any medical bills they may have, another toddler to care for at home, Dad being off work, and still having bills to pay I’m just trying to help take some stress off in such a hard time so they can focus on Noah and how to care for him. They will also have lots of upcoming appointments with different specialists and his new endocrinologist and are working on getting him a continuous glucose monitoring device for him.
If you feel called in your heart to help ease this stress for them, please do so and if you can’t help in this way, please keep praying for Noah and his family, they need all the prayers right now.
