#NoCforJ Help Jason kick cancer's butt
Donation protected
In November of 2018, Jason was diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer. While the cancer is treatable, Jason and his family were informed that the treatment process can take up to a year if there are no setbacks. Since his diagnosis, Jason has completed 30 treatments of radiation and chemotherapy. The doctors were happy to see that Jason’s body held up well under treatment. However, that step was the first as well as the easiest part of his cancer treatment.
On March 20th Jason will have surgery to remove the tumor. Following surgery, Jason will be out of work for a minimum of five weeks. Once his body has recovered, Jason will undergo more intense chemotherapy treatment that will last for four months. Lastly, Jason will have additional surgery at the end of summer. It is likely that Jason will miss many more weeks or possibly months of work.
While Jason will receive some compensation from short-term disability, it will not be enough to sustain him, and his family. It is likely that Wakisha will miss some work as well, some of which will also be unpaid. Unfortunately, the medical bills are already piling up. This GoFundMe is to help raise money for the DuClos family to help sustain them through this long and difficult journey.
2018 was a tough year for the DuClos family as Jason’s diagnosis came on the heels of multiple tragic losses. It had been a year filled with grief and uncertainty. Any and all donations will help alleviate some of the uncertainty so Jason and his family can focus on healing and recovery.
