Greetings and thanks,
My name is Ruby Montoya was called by a higher purpose to fight the Dakota Access Pipeline back in 2016. I am currently engaged in the most important legal case in the United States for activists and water protectors. Energy Transfer Partners (ETP), is using me to further Big Oil's political agenda of quashing dissent and labeling dissenters as domestic terrorists.
Investigation into this case has turned up the corruption and manipulation of our judicial system against our people and the environment. These actions never harmed anyone but I am being charged as a domestic t3rrorist to further Big Oil's agenda of criminalizing opposition. ETP has grossly overcharged me with outrageous claims and dollar amounts. The estimates for the alleged damage are grossly inflated, and if proved, can ultimately drop many of the charges against me. All of these charges require a minimum of $100,000 of damages, but the new investigations are showing that damages for the alleged instances in stopping the Dakota Access Pipeline are at most $30,000. None of this was originally investigated due to ineffective counsel, but, thankfully, my new attorney, Daphne Silverman, is ready and willing to charge forth in defense of water protectors everywhere.
In continuing the investigation and getting to the truth of the matter, not only could I remain free, it could reverse the dangerous precedent of domestic t3rrorism set against all water protectors and anyone that opposes a private corporation. These investigations can be given life through your generous donations.
This is the most important activist case in the country, and we are currently allowing Big Oil to win by setting dangerous precedents of domestic t3rrorism against anyone who opposes them.
I have received some funding from Lakota People's Law Project but need large funding by quickly in order to press forward with our investigations and make a strong legal defense to take this and win at trial.
Any amount is helpful, and so is sharing this with friends and organizations who would also take up this cause and stand with us.
