Noel's Cancer Treatment

Donation protected

Hey Everyone,

It is with a very heavy and broken heart that I share this news with you:

Our bat shit crazy girl... has cancer.

When I saw her face on the shelter's Instagram page three years ago, she was so obese, dog aggressive and old: not the ideal candidate for adoption. I just knew I was going to love the hell outta her.

I saw so much more than all the negative unadoptable things and I knew that she deserved a chance at love and life. So, I drove up to northern VT (basically Canada) and brought back this 97lb dog to her forever home.

In the almost three years I have gotten to share with her, we have lost 30lbs (her not me), gone on road trips around the country, beaches & mountains, city & country and is the official welcome committee at the Sweat Remix headquarters. She is the best.

I didn't give up on her then and I refuse to now.

She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a mean, awful and terminal cancer that affects the bone and metastasizes rapidly throughout her body, causing pain, and weakening her bones that will ultimately lead to a fracture and euthanasia. If the bones don't fracture first, this will take over her lungs and lymph nodes. And well...

Our time together is limited.

So, my intention is to give her the most loving and pain-free life possible.

What any of us want in this life is to be surrounded by love and to be as joyful and pain-free as possible, with as much dignity as possible.

And to do that, she will need her leg amputated.

Building a business (in this economy?!) is tough and I have already sacrificed so much for my community, am swimming in credit card debt and scraping by on government assistance and healthcare, and have had to move out of my fitness studio because I can't afford the rent after paying for vet visits.

This is all so costly and overwhelming. And worst of all, I feel so helpless trying to protect my whole world.

So your generosity is so so appreciated to help take care of my best girl.

Your donation will help cover the cost of the extensive medical bills I have already contributed to, will help to cover her amputation, medications and ongoing palliative care and a full-blown end-of-life celebration will everything she loves: chicken, cow bones, chasing squirrels and all of her aunties and uncles by her side!

Without a doubt, she has changed my life and given me purpose after so much loss. She has not only filled but overflowed my broken heart in ways I could never, ever begin to describe. Having her accompany me through some major transitions in my life has SAVED ME. She has resurrected my ability to love and I will forever be grateful for the joyful, crazy girl she is.

She had been neglected, abandoned and adopted multiple times. And I know that she landed here with me because she knew I was going to love her forever.

And I hate that this is how her story will go down.

She is the absolute best and she deserves the happiest ending possible.

Thank you for considering a donation and please know that anything helps.

We love and appreciate you so very much.

xo,

Noel and Angela
