Nolan and Sherry's Go Fund Me!!

Hello!! My name is Wanda and I am part of a group of friends and family concerned about the well being of a special mother and son!! We appreciate you reading our story!!

Nolan Rae is 26 years old and was born with Down Syndrome. Later diagnosed with Autism, Sleep Apnea, ADHD and Diabetes. He is super loving, happy, funny and a wonderful person!! Even with his special needs and complex health issues, he is a joy to be around!! And being loved by him is an absolute honor!! His mother, Sherry, is also a Superstar!!

Nolan was hospitalized December 29, 2023. He was diagnosed with double pneumonia. This led to him being intubated and placed on life support the next day. He was on 100% oxygen assist. He recovered from the pneumonia but was unable to come off the ventilator. He then developed pneumonia again. On January 14th, his ventilator was moved to his trachea to allow retraining and strengthening of his lungs. Due to the amount of time he has been bedridden, there will be many months of rehabilitation!!

Prior to Nolans hospitalization, he has a new Diabetes medication that fits with his other medications. It is NOT covered. It costs $300 per month and will be very difficult to afford!! There is no where else to save the money or dig for it!!

Sherry has dedicated her life to bringing and keeping the very best quality of life for Nolan. Always sacrificing her wants and needs to achieve this!! Always on a budget so tight, it could snap at any moment!! With Nolans complex needs, holding a regular job has been impossible!!

Sherry is Nolans advocate. She is HIS voice 24/7!! She knows his movements, his indicators of pain and discomfort. She knows his sensitivities, triggers and body language. She knows how he reacts to medications, negative stimuli and allergies. She is everything to and for Nolan!! She MUST be with him during these difficult times and months to come!!

The desired outcome for this Go Fund Me journey is to relieve Sherry's financial stress and allow her to continue being Nolan's advocate!! The concern and weight of unpaid bills with no light at the end of the tunnel weighs heavy!! This lady deserves relief!! If her financial needs can be covered, it will ease that burden and it will allow her to continue fighting for Nolan's quality of life he deserves!!

All money will go directly to Sherry for Nolan's medication and to secure her daily costs of living and allow her to be beside him!! Without her, he doesn't have a voice!! Sherry is Nolan's Trooper!!!

We have set a goal for $15 000. This amount will give her relief and peace of mind for several months and allow her to focus on Nolan's rehabilitation and care in the months to come! Please keep in mind that no donation is "too small" as every donation will benefit this very special Mother and Son!!
