AubreyAlert is raising funds to continue developing a voice activated application that enables GPS and sends an alert to emergency contacts. The application is being designed to to empower those that are being sexually assaulted that have nothing but their voice to protect them, and get them to seek help. The reality is, too many victims choose not to report these heinous crimes and our goal is to build confidence in hearing their voices.

“Let’s face it, as a society, we are not very good about preparing for or preventing sexual assault. ”
Most Federal, State, and Charitable resources are used for education, or victim advocacy funds, which are typically reserved for those that seek help, when the truth is, most women don’t report sexual assaults.
So, what do you do when a sexual assault just happened, or it’s happening right then? Who do you call, where do you go, what do you do? There are so many questions, that many never discover the answers until it’s too late. Our goal is to answer these questions.
We all hear about things like mace, holding car keys as a weapon, taking self defense classes, go in groups, yet most sexual assaults are in intimate situations often with people the victim already knows. In these situations, there are no weapons – the only thing the victim may have is their voice, something that has been silenced for way too long.
Starting in 2018, we began developing technology to assist sexual assault victims find resources, protect against attackers, and provide evidence to support criminal prosecution. We have a little further to go before the product can be made available commercially, and we are hoping to raise funds to get to the next milestone.
“We are fortunate that the core technology is now complete! ”
Our next milestone is to finalize the minimal viable product to put in the hands of investors for commercial development.
The application's core technology allows users to setup a personal phrase to trigger an emergency notification system; think of Siri, Ok Google, or Alexa - yet in this case, the owner gets to create their own phrase to use and train it to their voice. This functionality provides one additional tool for potential victims to be able to call for help without requiring physical access, or running the risk of being physically attacked by alerting their attacker that help is being called. A simple phrase like, "Damn it, I said no, and no means no" is used to trigger the alert system and notify your emergency contacts.
Once triggered, the service starts recording audio, and sends GPS location to their trusted emergency contacts who can then use the information to call the police and catch the perpetrator in the act. After an event, the application will provide a guide for rape kits, police reports, and other resources such as lawyers, therapists, and victim support groups. In addition, we are working with legislation to certify AubreyAlert as a security system so that the audio recordings and data gathered would be admissible in criminal prosecution.
Our goal is to minimize the endless "he said, she said" court cases building confidence for more victims to speak up knowing that they have a chance at justice. With the AubreyAlert technology targeting active assaults, we're expecting to pave the way for further advancements in protecting victims from sexual assaults, trafficking, and eventually kidnappings. Similar to how Amber Alert has increased awareness of kidnappings, we're hoping AubreyAlert will change the way we fight against sexual assaults and increase criminal prosecutions.
Please contribute until your heart's content for a worthy cause, AubreyAlert is working to change the way we think about sexual assaults, by Empowering Our Voices.
