Love to Nomuka
My parents Rebecca and Justin Freedman spent two wonderful years living on Nomuka island in the Kingdom of Tonga as Peace Corps volunteers. The people of Nomuka and neighboring Mango and Fonoi were warm and welcoming hosts and they cherished the friendships that they made while serving. When they returned home they named me Lucy 'ofa ki Nomuka, which means love to Nomuka. They brought me back to Nomuka to visit in 2005.

Nomuka and its surrounding Tongan islands and their people were severely impacted by the 2022 Hunga Tonga eruption and tsunami. Many houses on Nomuka have been destroyed, as well as most homes on Fonoi and all on Mango. We are collecting funds to provide relief to the people of these islands.
