In Memory: Support The Nona Faustine Family Fund
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
Our beloved Nona Faustine passed away peacefully in the early hours of Thursday, March 20, 2025. We are grateful and honored to have been by Nona’s side for so many years.
For her many ardent admirers who encountered her brilliance as an artist, as well as those who were lucky enough to know her, Nona was a singular force of nature. She will forever be remembered for her sharp wit and infectious laughter punctuated by her striking looks and radiant, expansive smile.
Nona often and proudly declared that she was first and foremost an artist and a mother. Always sharing her values unflinchingly through her art, Nona’s ceaseless striving for justice and a better world intensified with the birth of her daughter, Queen Ming. Nona fiercely prioritized her family and focused on the quality of their lives, crediting her own mother, Queen Elizabeth, and her sister and collaborator, Channon Anita, with making everything possible through their boundless love and support.
In these extraordinarily difficult times, our communities are an essential source of comfort and strength. As an integral part of Nona’s extended community, please consider supporting her family through this GoFundMe with a gift in any amount.
Prior to her passing, Nona worked in collaboration with Channon Anita and her gallery, Higher Pictures, to produce an edition of 300 signed prints of “Dorothy Angola, Stay Free, In Land Of The Blacks, Minetta Lane, Village, NYC,” 2021 (pictured above), from her groundbreaking series White Shoes. The 16 x 20-inch print can be purchased for $900 through Higher Pictures, with 100% of the proceeds going to her family. To purchase the photograph do not make payment to GoFundMe please contact Higher Pictures here.
Nona will continue to live in our hearts and minds. Our gratitude for the generosity and care of her community is profound.
With love,
Kim, Janice, Channon and Queen
