Dear friends and supporters
We are two Ukrainian ballet dancers from the Berlin State Ballet Iana Salenko and Oleksandr Shpak.
Since the beginning of the Russian war against our homeland, we have been trying our best to support Ukraine and its people. With the help of world leading choreographers, ballet companies and their dancers we organize benefit ballet evenings in Berlin and would like to ask you to support our initiative.
After last year's success, we are organizing a renewed charity ballet gala on April 16th at the Admiralspalast Berlin. The goal of this event is to raise start-up capital to establish an aid program. With this program we want to help those whose lives will never be the same as before the war. Namely, the Ukrainian children who have lost one or both parents/guardians due to the war.
This aid program will be implemented by Open-Verein e.V. in cooperation with the Ukrainian State Organization Ukrainian Veterans Foundation: the affected children will be supported and assisted in their existence and development by targeted micro-grants from Germany.
This includes:
- Medical, psychological and legal support
- Education, sports, cultural and recreational activities
- Housing and household needs
- Clothing and utensils
All the donations made here go directly to Open-Verein e.V. and will be used for the aid program “Kinder von Helden” / “Children of the Heros”
We are grateful for every support you give.
Sincerely,
Iana and Oleksandr

We, as artists, want to do everything we can to make at least a small contribution to help Ukraine and show it’s people the solidarity of ourselves and many other international artists and ballet companies.
Together with our colleagues - solo and first solo dancers from leading European theaters we organizing a non-profit charity ballet gala:

The gala will be held under the patronage of the Ambassador of Ukraine in Germany Mr. Dr. Andrij Melnyk.
All box office receipts will be directly transferred to the donation account of the Ukrainian Embassy in Berlin and spent on humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
WHY WE DO IT?
As the whole world has already noticed, our homeland Ukraine and its people are suffering from the unjustified and brutal aggression of its neighboring country.
Every day people die and a humanitarian catastrophe threatens, both the people in the country and those who leave it in a hurry. And every day there are more.
WHAT WE NEED?
But even though most participants in this project work for free, there are costs that cannot be avoided. And here we hope for your support in order to pay for the following expenses:
- Artists' travel, accommodation and food = approximately 11.000,00 €.
- Transport for technic and stage equipment = 1.500,00 €.
- Technicians and other staff = 3.994,00 €
- Branding and marketing team.
Important! All the guys in the team are from Ukraine and are there right now! They want to do everything for free but we can't afford not to pay them,
so = 2.000 €
In total: 18.494,00 €
This is not a small amount but our Gala-Evening can bring up to approximately 100.000,00 € and moreover express our solidarity with Ukraine and support the attention of the society to its problems. That's why we think it's worth it!
The money you donated here will go to our partner Open-Verein de an organization that already provides tremendous humanitarian support to Ukraine. After the payment of the Gala costs, the remaining money will remain with open-verein and will also be spent on humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
We all hope for your participation and help.
Sincerely yours, Yana Salenko, Oleksandr Shpak and all the participants
