Nonprofit Reforestation & Medicinal Plant intern

Hello, my name is Ryker Ray, I am excited to share with you an opportunity to contribute to a cause close to my heart. I have been offered an unpaid internship with The Monteverde Institute, a nonprofit in Monteverde, Costa Rica. This organization works tirelessly to guide sustainable tourism and conduct vital research on the ecosystem in this biodiversity hotspot.

My role will involve working with their reforestation program and their medicinal plant, ethnobotany research stream. I will also be assisting with a youth community camp, Campamento Hormiguitas. Half of the program costs will support the local family hosting me, and the other half will fund the community sustainability-based programs.

This is an incredible opportunity to do research and community-based conservation work. I will be studying the local culture, values, and the Spanish language to create impactful connections with my colleagues and friends.
