With the imminent invasion of Rafah, everyone is in danger. Noor and Alaa have made the difficult decision to put their names on the list to leave Gaza and head to Cairo, Egypt. They are doing this not only for themselves but for the future of their families.

Who are Alaa and Noor?

Both Alaa and Noor hold university degrees and can be significantly employed as professionals outside Gaza. Alaa is 26 years old and Noor is 22 years old, both are graduates with a degree in Information Technology Engineering. Alaa also works as a teacher at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, specializing in multimedia. By helping this young family escape to Cairo and start anew, you will provide hope and practical assistance not only for them but for their families as well.

Alaa and Noor's love story has lasted for over 5 years and culminated in their engagement on 26/4/2023. They were at the peak of happiness. Today, I amend the text of the

campaign, dated 25/4/2024... Yes, tomorrow, according to today's date, marks the anniversary of our engagement. Why are my eyes tearing up now?

Noor is the second daughter of her mother, who conceived her through artificial insemination, making her a test tube baby. She and her twin sister, Nora, returned after several surgeries. When Noor turned seventeen, her father passed away during a heart surgery. She suffered an emotional shock afterward. A year later, she met Alaa, who was a student at the university she attended. As they got to know each other, the days proved to Noor that Alaa was the right person to complete her life with. Their relationship developed, and Alaa became everything to Noor, the father and brother she had been deprived of. Alaa graduated with honors from the Information Technology Engineering department, ranking first in his specialization. He was later rewarded with a teaching position at the university, becoming Noor's teacher. This journey is envisioned, and Alaa becomes more cherished in Noor's eyes with each passing day.

Alaa's father is killed

On October 21, 2023, twenty days after the start of the war on Gaza, and as things were worsening, Alaa's father went to charge the battery that powered the LED lights for Alaa's family. With electricity cut off throughout Gaza, Hamza Al-Alkhodary, Alaa's father, went to charge the battery using a solar power panel owned by one of his relatives. He went out on that day and never returned because the house adjacent to the one where Alaa's father was had been bombed. By the way, his father had been battling cancer for three years. When he was injured in this incident, he was killed instantly because the injury was directly to his head. Here, Noor became fatherless, and Alaa also became fatherless.

Last fall was painful for my family and Alaa's family, who managed to evacuate to Rafah without carrying anything but the clothes they were wearing. It was tough days.

Entire bloodlines have indeed been erased across Palestine since the beginning of the genocide. Once evacuated to Egypt, Alaa and I will be able to resume our professional lives and help the rest of our families.

Both Alaa and I have lost several family members and fear losing more with the Israeli army's threat to intensify its attacks. I'm terrified for my marriage and the love of my life to go away as many people have here in Gaza. I'm scared because Alaa isn't just a husband, but he's everything now: father, brother, and friend. It's worth mentioning that I have no relatives other than my mother's husband after my father's death.

What motivates me to contribute to this issue?

I am sure that any contribution you can make to save our marriage and escape from genocide is an investment that will yield multiple benefits. How do you know that?

My resourceful husband and fiancé, Alaa, arrived in Rafah with nothing. After obtaining food and warm clothes, he rushed to work tirelessly to help others in the following ways:

Through our assistance, hope will be provided—not only for us, but also for our families and others. Alaa has friends in Cairo who will help him determine his next steps and identify the best course of action.

Logistics services

To leave Gaza, the family's names must be entered on the exit list and arrangements made with the Egyptian state-owned travel company "Yahala" for safe passage from Gaza to Egypt. Yahala has branches in both Gaza and Egypt.

The fees for this transfer increase approximately on a weekly basis. A total of $24,500, after deducting GoFundMe fees, will allow this young family to safely reach Cairo and provide the necessary means to regain their independence. Their evacuation plan is being organized by the Egyptian State Agency "Yahala". It's a system many others have used to leave Gaza.

What is the money required?

1. The fees for refugees wishing to travel from Rafah to Cairo are:

Total: $13,000

__To complete the evacuation by May 15, donations must reach $24,500 by May 10. __

2. In addition, GoFundMe charges a 3% fee on each donation, plus transaction fees (0.25 cents per transaction - about 0.32 cents). This has been taken into account in the actual goal, but it amounts to approximately $1000. (Most of these fees cover the cost imposed by Swipe for processing your donations.)

Including these fees, and assuming quick receipt of donations, we will need $19,000 to establish a base in Egypt while we figure out our next steps and resume our professional lives online.

The funds collected will be sent to Alaa's cousin, who will travel to Cairo to pay for the evacuation permits. (A blood relative is required to do so.)

3. Both Alaa and I are capable of working online as freelancers immediately. (Alaa already has accounts on Upwork and Fiverr with excellent reviews.)

High-spec laptops are our trade tools. Once we arrive in Cairo, we will need to purchase a refurbished laptop with the necessary specifications. This will allow us to start consulting again and regain financial independence. An amount of $3000 has been allocated to purchase one refurbished laptop with the required power to work with clients online. This will enable both Alaa and Noor to work from home initially to cover their basic needs during their travel.

4. The remaining amount of $5000 allows Alaa and me to survive for two months until we receive our first paychecks. We need to find cheap accommodation - a safe place where we can work online from home and recover from our ordeal.

I strongly believe that there are people who love to help others fend for themselves, which is why I created this fundraising campaign. We are hardworking young individuals not accustomed to receiving charity. Your contributions will go a long way in making the entire extended family self-sufficient once again.

نور هي الابنة الثانية لوالدتها التي حملتها عن طريق التلقيح الصناعي، مما جعلها طفلة أنابيب. عادت هي وشقيقتها التوأم نورا بعد عدة عمليات جراحية. عندما بلغت نور السابعة عشرة من عمرها، توفي والدها أثناء عملية جراحية في القلب. وتعرضت لصدمة عاطفية بعد ذلك. وبعد مرور عام، التقت بآلاء، التي كانت طالبة في الجامعة التي التحقت بها. وعندما تعرفا على بعضهما البعض، أثبتت الأيام لنور أن علاء هو الشخص المناسب لتكمل حياتها معه. وتطورت علاقتهما، وأصبح علاء كل شيء بالنسبة لنور، الأب والأخ الذي حرمت منه. تخرج علاء من قسم هندسة تكنولوجيا المعلومات بمرتبة الشرف الأولى في تخصصه. تمت مكافأته لاحقًا بمنصب تدريسي في الجامعة، ليصبح مدرسًا لنور. تم تصور هذه الرحلة، ويصبح علاء أكثر عزيزًا في عيون نور مع مرور كل يوم.

مقتل والد علاء

في 21 أكتوبر 2023، بعد عشرين يومًا من بدء الحرب على غزة، ومع تفاقم الأمور، ذهب والد علاء لشحن البطارية التي تشغل مصابيح "الليد "لعائلة علاء. ومع انقطاع الكهرباء في كافة أنحاء غزة، ذهب حمزة الخضري، والد علاء، لشحن البطارية باستخدام لوحة طاقة شمسية يملكها أحد أقاربه. خرج في ذلك اليوم ولم يعد أبدًا لأن المنزل المجاور للمنزل الذي كان والد علاء قد تعرض فيه للقصف. بالمناسبة، كان والده يعاني من السرطان لمدة ثلاث سنوات. وعندما أصيب في هذا الحادث، قُتل على الفور لأن الإصابة كانت في رأسه بشكل مباشر. هنا أصبحت نور يتيمة الأب، وعلاء أيضًا أصبح يتيمًا.

كان الخريف الماضي مؤلمًا لعائلتي وعائلة علاء، الذين تمكنوا من الإخلاء إلى رفح دون أن يحملوا شيئًا سوى الملابس التي كانوا يرتدونها. لقد كانت أياماً صعبة.
