Noor's Family, The Rahimi Family Resettlement

Donation protected
My name is Roberta Pomponio and I tutored Noor Rahimi when he first arrived in the United States after fleeing the Taliban. Noor Rahimi will receive all donations which will be used for transportation, food, clothes, housing and medical needs.

Noor's story is one of resilience, determination, and hope. Two years ago, he fled his home in Afghanistan, leaving behind everything he knew and loved, to escape the Taliban with nothing but the clothes on his back, seeking refuge and a chance to rebuild his life in order to bring his family to safety in the United States.

As a volunteer English tutor who had the privilege of working with Noor during his first few months in the United States, I can personally attest to his remarkable character and unwavering determination. Noor's resilience and courage in the face of adversity inspired me as much as his eagerness to learn.

After two years of tireless effort, Noor has emerged as a young man of exceptional resilience and determination. He has not only mastered the English language but has also excelled in his advanced high school classes. Simultaneously, he holds a six-night-a-week job at a local restaurant, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his education and his unwavering desire to support his family.

Noor’s family recently fled the Taliban and will finally reunite with Noor on December 6, 2023. Just like Noor, they arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs, facing the daunting task of rebuilding their lives in a new country.

Noor’s family is filled with hope about their new life in the United States. They are deeply grateful for the opportunity to live in a safe environment where their children can grow up without fear. They are also determined to become self-sufficient and contribute to their new community.

With your help, we can make the Rahimi's transition smoother in the United States. Your donation will directly support their immediate needs, such as housing, food, clothing, transportation, and medical care. Your generosity will provide them with the resources they need to navigate their new surroundings and rebuild their lives.
