“Nope, Not Today Cancer - Help Brittany Fight!”

We are starting this page for our co-worker Brittany McKay. Our names are Angela and Lauren and we work as pharmacy technicians at Meijer Pharmacy.
Brittany is an amazing 26yr old and a true inspiration to those who know her. Here is a little history of her story....

September 2017:  At only 23 yrs old doctors found cancer in her uterus and on her ovaries. 
December 2017: Had a partial hysterectomy and they scraped her ovaries.
After treatment she was in remission for 2 yrs. 

Until she got the devastating news....

August 2019: Her cancer returned on  
her ovaries. She started oral chemo.
August 2020: Thank God Brittany got       new doctors and they started new meds along with more tests!!!! She was then unfortunately also diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) on her pelvis. 
October 2020: Doctors found more cancer on her spine and also her left ribs.

She is now classified as stage 3.  Brittany is on 4 different chemo medications, 2 oral and 2 injections. One injection is daily and one is weekly- they make her so sick but she still comes into work with a big smile on her face! 

Brittany is working and going to school full time ( getting her masters degree in sociology, religion, and criminal justice). She always has such a positive attitude and it has not changed with each and every added diagnosis. She has a very strong outlook on life and is ready to fight! It will be a tough fight for Brittany, but we all know she is ready to beat this!!!!! This page has been established to help ease the burden of medical bills and so Brittany can focus on resting, healing, and treatments.
