  • 6/10/22 WE HAVE RETAINED LESTER TATE FROM CARTERSVILLE again.. He thinks we have very good chance of stopping the quarry. Help us raise an additional 7K to cover the rest of our legal fees. We raised almost 6K the first time and that still shows up in our fundraiser, fyi. We need to raise 7K for this round which would bring us to 13K!

  • We are sending out post cards to all that are effected for awareness
  • We have made a website www.NoQuarry140.com
If everyone donates a little, it will add up so a few people don't have to pay the expenses for it all!
NoQuarry140.com is fundraising on behalf of all the citizens of Adairsville against the new proposed quarry on Hwy 140, east of I-75. Natre Capitall LLC has purchased 715 acres of land in a deceitful manner, according to the trusting sellers. They were told the land would be put into conservation. When in actuality they were planning to quarry limestone to make construction materials through Georgia Stone Products. They may be a large company with a lot of money, but I believe that the people of Adairsville will not stand for this and will stand together to fight and defeat them. Our health, water, environment and traffic safety are so much more important than another quarry within a 3 mile stretch of land. The peaceful way of life we all know and love would be lost . The trees we cherish would be gone forever. All the wildlife that live in the 715 acres will be displaced or possibly killed. They are planning on building the quarry in the middle of farms and houses. It is adjacent to the historic Mosteller Mill, which also has a Federally Protected Species on the property called the Tennessee Yellow Eyed Grass which is fed by a spring that produces a million gallons of water a day. This quarry would be sitting on top of a ground water recharge area that Bartow County vowed to protect in their 2018-2028 Comprehensive Plan. In this plan, the county also says the entire east side of I-75 would be Rural Estates and Agricultural (other than what is right off the interstate)
