As some of you will be aware, many of you won’t be.

Last week Dana and Nick took their little girl Nora into emergency for an abnormally distended abdomen, after a long night of tests and X-rays what they found out next has changed their lives forever.
They were told Nora has cancer. These are words no parent can bear to imagine, let alone hear.

She was transferred straight to the Royal Children’s Hospital, along with this came more tests, X-rays and finally some more answers.
On Tuesday the 23rd of January Nora was diagnosed with cancer to her Kidney and lungs (Wilms Tumour).
Words will never be able to express the amount of heartbreak Dana, Nick, Nora and Axel have endured this past week. They have consistently asked themselves, why?
Why would any child ever deserve this.
They’re somehow finding strength they never knew existed in the midst of this difficult time.

Nora is currently going through 6 weeks of intense chemotherapy, which will be followed by surgery to remove her kidney and the 17cm mass taking over her tiny body. She will potentially then need another surgery to remove the tumours from her lungs, followed by more chemotherapy, and possibly radiation (yet to be determined).

Dana and Nick are so grateful to the Royal Children’s Hospital and the work they are doing for her.
This is the beginning of a very long road ahead for them all, especially Nora.
Anyone who has supported someone through cancer knows, it’s one day at a time.

As you can imagine the most important thing to them right now is spending all of their time by their beautiful girls side, whilst also travelling back and forth when they can to remain present for their little cutie Axel, who is being cared for back home.

With all of this comes the reality of our world, nothing is free.
A lot of people have asked me what they can do to help them right now and honestly, there is nothing anyone can do to take this nightmare away.
Perhaps if we can spare a few dollars to allow them the time they need to navigate their way through this with a little less financial stresses, that would no doubt mean the world to them.
If you can’t, your thoughts and messages are enough.

Whilst they are on this emotional rollercoaster, Nora has been their little sunshine. She is putting on the bravest face they have ever seen, a 4 year old girl fighting for her life with no idea how far she has to go and how far she has already come. If there is one thing they are sure of its to hold your babies closer than you normally would tonight, don’t take a second of their life for granted.

Thanks everyone, much love. xxxx
