Nora Mendoza's Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
Our beloved mother, Leonora “Nora” Mendoza, was 69 years old when she died in the early morning on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at BridgePoint Hospital National Harbor. I know she is in Heaven with my dad, Rudy Mendoza, who passed away last April.
Last Spring, she was diagnosed with cancer and decided to get chemotherapy treatments. After a few months, her doctor said that the cancer was mostly gone except for maybe a little bit in the lungs. But shortly after, she started vomiting and having headaches. We found out from a medical scan that the cancer had metastasized to her spinal fluids. She tried a new drug called Tagrisso which could have prolonged her life but soon afterwards, she passed.
Nora was one of three daughters and five brothers, born to parents Nicolas and Alberta Pegarido in Cebu City, Philippines. She raised three beautiful children, Hazel, Jonathan, and Jeffrey and was always filled with joy to see her grandchildren, Emily, Aubrey, and Michael.
This campaign will raise funds to help pay for funeral costs from Jefferson Funeral Chapel, services from St. Louis parish and Mt. Comfort cemetery, and various items to make the event as beautiful and peaceful as possible. Any extra donations raised above the goals will go to charitable organizations like "The Philippines Nurses Association of Metropolitan DC, Inc."
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at a viewing on February 14, 2020 as well as a Funeral Mass and burial on February 15, 2020. Details to be announced soon.
