Nora Salgado Battling Terminal Cancer

Update as of September 29:

Nora has made her way to Heaven with our Heavenly Father. Doctor gave her a minimum of 6 month expectancy but God decided to take her within weeks. 

Hoy, septiembre 29 Nora falleció y ahora está descansando con nuestro padre celestial. Los doctores le dieron mínimo 6 meses de vida pero Dios se la llevó en semanas. 

Por favor, continuemos con la ayuda para su linda familia, ahora más que nunca necesitarán para los gastos fúnebres. 

As many of you guys know, my friend Nora Salgado was diagnosed with cancer almost two years ago. She was recently told she now has terminal stomach cancer. It has been very, very rough months for her and her family. Nora has 4 babies who are 15, 9, 4, and 1 year old.

Nora has just started to become weak, and in the last few days, she hasn't been able to get up from the bed alone. The doctors have told her that treatment isn't going to help anymore, and she has been prescribed pain medication to help with the pain. She isn't eating, barely drinking, and now barely speaks. It breaks our hearts to see her this way. We have hope and faith that she will wake up, she will get off the bed, and walk again. It's a huge miracle that we ask because we want to wake up from this nightmare!

I have decided to start a GoFundMe page to help my dear friend relieve some of her medical burden that she is leaving behind, to help with planning funeral costs if it gets there, as she will need to be flown back to Honduras. We want to mainly help her little family cover apartment, water, heating, and electric bills. If we raise more than our goal, the money will then be used to help these babies with the years to come!

Nora is married to a hardworking and caring man who isn't able to take a day off because he works to meet their needs day by day. They do NOT have life insurance, PTO, sick leave, 401k, nor savings. He has taken many hours off to take her to treatments, doctor appointments, and chemotherapy, but it has definitely taken a huge hit on his household income.

Everyone who has been able to meet her knows she is the light of the room, the voice, the one that made everyone laugh. She is the one to reach out to those in need, the one to make new friends, the one to help those who are in need even with a meal. She is a strong, wonderful woman who tried her best to fight this and keep looking forward. She has been strong, but now it's time for us to help her during this battle!
