Norman Firefighter Battling Cancer

Donation protected
Levi Wilkins, 32, is a Driver Engineer for the Norman Fire Department and has been with the City of Norman for seven and a half years.  Levi is also an active member of the Oklahoma Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team. He and his wife Emily have called Norman home since 2009 and recently celebrated ten years of marriage in May.  They also have two wonderful kiddos, Nora, 6, and Wyatt, 3.

Sadly, Levi was recently diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer. The battle for him and his family is just beginning. The hope is this gofundme will provide financial relief and support for Levi and his family, and directly assist with medical bills, travel expenses, etc. Levi will be frequently traveling to Houston, TX to undergo treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center, so the battle is underway.

When Levi isn't at the fire station, he finds solace and joy in the mountains.  He has summitted the likes of  Mt. Rainer, Mt. Hood, Mt. Whitney, Crestone Needle, Pikes Peak, Mont Blanc, Mt. Yale, and countless others around the world.  Levi loves the challenge, the training, the time spent in God's creation, and everything that climbing encompasses. He's truly a climbing machine.

Now, Levi, with his family alongside him, faces the toughest climb yet.  But through your generosity and God's mercy, we can surround this family and lift up their arms as Levi beats cancer.  The Wilkins family is humbled by your compassion and thoughtfulness to even consider donating.  And if you can't donate, that is okay.  We only ask you keep Levi and his family in your daily prayers.

Levi's hope is for God to receive the glory through this circumstance.  When asked about the outpouring of support and love they have already received, Levi said "it's truly amazing how God uses something so terrible for His purposes. I think the good I've already seen come of this far outweighs the evil of the situation. It's been beautiful to watch".

Levi's Fire Captain and friend, Cody Goodnight recently stated, "Cancer has met it's match. You won't find another individual as mentally and physically strong and resilient as Levi. I look forward to the day we are celebrating his victory over cancer".

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.  If one of them falls down, the other can pick him up." -Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
