Norman Ingram Playground Fire
Donation protected
Just before 2 a.m. on October 6, vandals set fire to the Norman Ingram Public School playground.
Thankfully, a nearby household awoke and called fire services who were able to put out the fire and prevent any injuries or damage beyond the playground.
But now the school is without a playground. This affects the school children at recess, as well as families in our community who use the Norman Ingram school yard as a meeting place on afternoons and weekends. .
One neighbourhood boy lamented, "I was raised on that playground!" when he learned it had been burnt down.
This site's goal is to raise funds to help rebuild the playground as quickly as possible, to minimize disruption to the students and the community. Any unused or excess funds will be donated to the School Council, to be put towards the planned outdoor education space.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at [phone redacted], Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at http://www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
Thank you for your contribution. It means a great deal to all those affected.
