Norman’s Battle w/ Ewing’s Sarcoma
Donation protected
We brought Norman to the ER August 19th for severe pain in his left humerus (upper arm). It was hard and hot to the touch. They took an X-ray and sent us to a specialist two days later. That specialist was a pediatric oncologist who told us there was a tumor in his bone. We had an MRI done of the arm and then were sent to Boston Children’s to do a consult. This is where they told us they suspected Ewing’s Sarcoma. A biopsy was done the next week to confirm that. After that a slew of tests were done and a port was surgically put in his chest to administer chemo. Norman will be going through chemo, surgery, then more chemo. This should *fingers crossed* wrap up shortly after his 8th birthday next May. With chemo every other week and the constant on edge from side effects (currently admitted for low white blood cell count) I have had to drastically decrease my hours at work. We were in no way prepared for this type of life event. If you cannot donate, please share our story. Because even if this just spreads awareness about childhood cancer, then maybe we are helping save some kiddo out there! Thank you everyone! ❤️
