North Fork Tech Project

North Fork Teachers Associations team up to provide students with Chromebooks.

Oysterponds, Greenport, Southold, Mattituck/Cutchogue and Riverhead Teachers Associations are working together to help get chrome books into the hands of students.

There are economically distressed families in our communities that do not have all the tools they need to learn remotely during this crisis.

Access to technology is a problem for many children across the North Fork and the number of computers that our schools have to give to families are finite.  This project is to ensure equity for all of our students during this time.

We need to start thinking on a larger scale.  Those of us with North Fork roots are spread from Orient to Riverhead, and we have a strong sense of community.  Everyone will be affected by this crisis and everyone will need to do their part.  We see our healthcare providers in the hospitals sacrificing and putting them selves at risk daily.

As leaders, educators and advocates for children we are going to focus on our role and that is ensuring universal access to education for every child in our communities.
