We are the Northants Disability County Cricket Club (Steelbacks) and we need your help!
The Northants Disability Club improves links with disabled cricketers by providing coaching facilities in order for them to play this wonderful sport. Our club covers all disabilities from disabled, visually impaired to learning difficulties and mental health.
Cricket is an opportunity for our players to enjoy and participate in inclusive sport. As a team, we have already had many amazing accomplishments, such as training 8 England players, 6 Regional players and World Cup Winners. That’s not all, last season we saw the Northants Disability County Cricket Club take victory against Wales, Derby and Essex. One of our favourite highlights of the year was our match against Help for Heroes, which is always an honor to host. We also managed to secure a win which was an extra bonus!
We are currently looking to raise funds in order to help provide our passionate players in the disability section with a brand new helmet that will provide them with the necessary protection in order for them to continue to play cricket safely.
Alongside this, we are also looking to provide each player with a playing shirt ready for the 2020 and 2021 season. With the spiralling costs of playing equipment and clothing, we would ideally like to purchase the players their match shirts so they do not have to find extra funds which for some of our players is already difficult enough.
We also have extra funds to cover such as the cost of training, travelling around the county in order to participate in the games and hiring facilities. Whilst we do get some funding from the England Cricket Board it still is unfortunately not enough to cover all our costs. This is why we need your help to continue to fund the club and to make sure that the Northants Disability County Cricket Club can still have a prosperous future.
Thank you for all your support, it is much appreciated by all of us at the Northants Disability County Cricket Club.
