Dallas Police NE Injured Officers

Donation protected

On August 20, 2017 two Dallas Police Officers assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division were hospitalized due to a motor vehicle collision.  Officer Brandy Walling and Zach Perez were involved in a motor vehicle collision while patrolling the streets of North Dallas.  Both officers were transported to the hospital with lacerations to the head requiring staples and sutures to close their wounds.  Unfortunately the City of Dallas is NOT covering the accident and therefore the officer’s salary is not being paid.  The officers are on “I” time (injury) but have to use their own sick/vacation time to actually get a paycheck.  Each officer holds approximately 100 hours of discretionary leave which by now has all been depleted. The Officers remain on injury time and have not been cleared to return to work.  Both are going through speech and cognitive therapy and it is unknown as to when they will completely recover. The funds raised will be evenly divided to help with bills, groceries, rent etc.  Both Officers have been on the department for approximately 3 years.

Funds are also being raised for Officer Rolando Carballo, who had open heart surgery this year and is recovering at home.  Officer Carballo is also assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division as a Neighborhood Patrol Officer.  Funds raised will go towards assisting him with his medical bills.  Officer Carballo is a 17 year veteran of the Dallas Police Department.
