Northern Rivers Stained Glass Emergency Fund

My name is Rah and my partner Maire not only lost her home like many others, she also lost everything in her business Northern Rivers stained Glass down in the lismore cbd. So many people contacting her to see how they can help, feeling so helpless. So if you have the capacity to contribute in the way of a donation it will be welcome.

This double whammy for Maire losing both her business and her home with her 2 daughters and pets. Her business is nearly 3 years old with moving location only 1 year and 2 days before the flood hit. We prepared as much as we could, got out what we could with many people helping. We thought we had done everything we could, but no one expected this amount of water or it rushing through so fierce. Everything we had strapped down and packed was demolished by the flood water. Her shop isn’t safe to go into and from the photos doesn’t look structurally safe enough to go into for a long time. The last few days we have been cleaning out the debris and salvaging what we can save from her house, and then today the photos came through of her shop. Catastrophic is the only word I can think of, we thought we knew what we were expecting but we never expected this. Like everyone she has lost thousands of dollars worth of things that cannot be replaced. I want to help her like she has helped so many other people. I once had a guy say to me “your partners shop makes lismore colorful” and it did. The artwork she created was and is incredible and the gift shop she created for the other 50 plus artists and creators to put there work in was such a colorful part of this town . As all the business are in the same situation and I’m hoping everyone gets help for rebuilding or for just surviving through this. This has hit so many of us hard, the destruction is something we didn’t expect but it’s here and we are doing the best we can. The funds will help with cleanup and survival.
