Northgate Art Department
Donación protegida
Hello all,
Last year I began working at Northgate Elementary school as their art teacher. It is one of the most supportive and loving communities I have had the fortune of being part of.
We rely heavily on donations to ensure we have what students need to be successful. Last year, through the generosity of friends and family, $1,500 was donated to the art department. This year, I would like to set the goal at $2,000. Every cent of your donation will go to a group of students whose gratitude, joy and imagination have real power in improving our world.
Our students come from many places and many backgrounds. They are truly what make our culture the rich experience it is. As their neighborhood is rapidly changing, it is more important than ever to make sure their presence in the community is seen by the community itself. Our theme for the art department this year is social justice, influenced by Rich Alapack’s movement, We All Live Here https://wealllivehereproject.com/. Our goal for this theme is to have as much student work as possible be exhibited in spaces around the community. We want to make our students, their ideas and identities known to the community, and to invite our neighbors into our home at Northgate.
Thank you.
