Northgate family home destroyed by fire

Hi, my name is Melissa and I am the granddaughter of Margaret Choyce.

On 20 July 2023 at 8pm a fire has completely destroyed our family home, a home my Nan has lived in for over 40 years. She has raised her family and provided foster care to many over the years. I have lived there to on and off over the years and have fond memories of roses in the drive and huge family gatherings and you could always feel the fierceness of the love Nan had for her family when you walked in the door. She was always willing to do anything for us.

My Nan is 80 and was living at the property with my Uncle Jon, her full time care giver who has selflessly ceased work to take care of her as her health has deteriorated.

Last week, my Aunt Kerri-Ann and 3 of her daughters, Clarisse, Jessica and Chanel, and Chanels 4 month old son Jude, had also moved in to the property.

They have lost everything. The whole house has been destroyed, clothing, furniture, phones, toys and baby items.
