Norwood Gardens

I,m Katie Reynolds and I do volunteer gardening in Norwood. I have been volunteering at The Balch School for 12 years and about 3 years at The Senior Center. I've been creating gardens and beautifying the grounds. I started when my son entered 1st grade and discovered that I like to garden. I get real pleasure from beautifying this 107 year old school. I do this voluntarily for the kids, the teachers, and the community. The seniors are always so complimentary too at the Senior Center.

I plant flowers and bushes, rake, mulch, weed, water, prune and pick up litter. I want to make the landscape pretty for the students, teachers, parents, and seniors. It is a big school and takes a lot of work but I enjoy it doing it. I am glad I can do something for my town.

As a volunteer, I have no budget for plants, shrubs, mulch etc. Neighbors have kindly donated plants and supplies over the years which has been so helpful. Many grocery stores, nurseries and home supply stores have donated spring bulbs and mulch in the past.

I need some new tools and have not mulched for a few years now. Would you be able to donate to my community projects?

This is not a school-sponsored activity. I represent myself only as a parent and a resident of Norwood. I would appreciate any support you can give. Thank you very much.
