Not a good deck climber!!!

What’s up everybody, it’s your boy Carl.

As much as I really hate to do this, I have to ask for help.

As you I’m sure know by now, I had a bad fall a little while back.  The timelines for recovery I’m hearing are way longer than I had hoped in terms of getting back steady on my feet and being able to work.  Long enough that I’ve decided I need to ask for help from this community I love so much.  

For the next year or so I’m being told I can plan on doing nothing but recovering and basically being a medical test subject.  I’m told that if I can focus on doing the work of healing and physical therapy, I can significantly cut into that timeline.  I really can’t see making it through all this anywhere but here, in Frederick, but there are a lot of ends that I don’t know how I’m going to make meet in order for that to happen.

My biggest fear right now is not finding a way to keep my place here in Frederick while I heal.  We all know and can see what is happening to living expenses here, and I know deep down that if I’m forced to leave here now,  I will never make my way back.  We’ve all seen it happen to folks already.  I’m not ready to give up this town, this community that I love so dearly.

So in addition to applying for disability and whatever other official aid I can manage to get, I’m humbly asking for help from my community that has already given me so much.  I’m banking on this community’s supportive soul to help keep me here while I claw my way back to self-sufficiency.

Thank you so much in advance for any help you can spare, and thank you so much for the love and support you all have always shown me in my years here.  I can’t imagine life anywhere else, and I really want to find a way to hang on to my place here in Frederick, a way to hang on to you all, my people.
