Not the water feature I wanted

Hi, my name is Kerry Reif and I'm a mom and grandma living in Apple Valley, MN. Due to a fire in the apartment above me, my entire apartment was destroyed by water. Multiple units were damaged, and two are uninhabitable - the fire unit and mine. The gushing water from the sprinkler system came through all of my ceiling fixtures and vents and ruined the contents - kitchen, bedroom, closets, bathroom, furniture... Foolishly, I did not have renters insurance. I was trying to save money on the monthly bills, and I accept full responsibility for that decision. (I have insurance now!) The person in the apartment above me did not have renters insurance either. She panicked and ran during the fire and was unable to be located for about 24 hours.

I am asking for help replacing some of my things (a bed and a couch) and assisting with rent. Today I learned it could be as long as 4 months before the apartment is ready. I'm currently staying with my son and his family, but seriously... would you want your mother-in-law to live with you for 4 months? I can't impose on this young family. So I'm humbly asking for help - which goes against my entire being. Any amount will help. I can also promise that down the road this will be paid forward to someone else in need.
