Not Your Average Ministry - Just Do You: The Movement

Hello everyone!! My name is Jasmine Smith and I am a native from Oklahoma City, OK. I recently launched a ministry called “Just Do You: The Movement.” This is a vision I have been working on since I was in elementary school and now, seeing it officially launched is a true blessing. I’ve talked about this vision for 20 plus years and have recently began posting about it and a few have asked me about starting a Go Fund Me so that more people can give towards the building up of Just Do You. I’ll tell you this: we are not your average ministry.

This past August, we hosted a soft launch of the ministry in Oklahoma. We hosted an original production, a men and women’s brunch, a youth night where youth have the freedom to speak and a fun day in the park!!

The core of the vision has always remained the same: be yourself in the identity Christ has given you. We live in a world where society pressures us to live up to a man-made societal “norm” that leads to so many issues and then we begin to feel stuck. We get lost in cycles and the mundane routine of life. And part of the truth is, the church has fallen prey to doing the very thing we accuse the world of doing.

Just Do You exists to be a safe space for people to come and glorify God without the fear of judgement. We talk about real issues and give not only spiritual guidance but also practical applications. Our bible studies are conversational so that means we engage in the true essence of community and what it means to truly grow together in Christ and as one. It’s time the church returns back to the basics and stand on the foundation of the word of God. Not on our opinions.

We are here for everyone’s walks of life and we hold a strong passion and emphasis for youth development for youth of all ages ranging from infants to young adults.

Monies donated will go to the use of a mobile van with attached stage. We would love to have a building that people can come to and that’s a future goal. However, we do believe in the truth that we are to take the gospel to the people. Not everyone can make it to church, but the church should always be available to make it to the people. After all, it’s about God’s Kingdom.

Monies will also go to the implementation and building of a youth center, resources/classes/workshops to help people in need, and the travels to bring God to the people.

Right now, we have branches in Oklahoma City and Atlanta and are currently building our online hub. As we grow, we will create movements throughout the states and will open up opportunities for people to run local movements in your area.
