Nothing More Can Be Done

Five words that nobody wants to hear from your oncologist. Our 45 year old brother, Tim, has been in a brave battle with metastatic testicular cancer for several years now. His life has included numerous rounds of chemo that have left him weak and nauseous. With the spread of tumors that have invaded his bile duct, lungs and kidneys, he has endured many surgeries to remove tumors and add stents. Now he is in constant pain and abdominal pressure, which has required hospitalizations for pain management, dehydration and many scans. He has always wanted to provide for his family, so he has worked thru all of the grueling treatment. Just this past week, sadly, he finally had to admit he can't work anymore. Tim is the primary breadwinner of his family of four, which includes two teenage boys, Dalton and Dawson. Laura, his wife, is working, but her income is not enough. As a result, medical and personal bills are overwhelming. They are selling what they can to make ends meet, and are applying for any benefits they can, but this will only sustain them for a while.
