Nova Scotia Vape Flavor Ban Challenge
Donation protected
Nova Scotia has an imminent Vape flavor ban being implemented on April, 1st 2020. As many of you know, this will force specialty vape stores out of business almost immediately. Adults have used flavors to switch from smoking to vaping for almost 15 years. That freedom is now under attack. With these funds we will be hiring Patterson Law. They are a national law firm with some of the best lawyers in Canada. Mike Scott will be the lawyer who is spearheading this challenge for us. He is an avid vaper and like many of us has a similar story of switching from smoking cigarettes to vaping after years of addiction to traditional tobacco. Banning flavors in vape products is an overreach by government and must be met with a legal challenge.
We expect if this went to full trial that it will cost upwards of 250k, however if we are successful at challenging the laws early on we could see negotiations open with the government, whom at this point have no interest in speaking with industry members.
All funds will be held in trust at Patterson law and will be used to fight the Nova Scotian government. Some funds will be used to issue press releases to add additional pressure to the government. If these laws are implemented other provinces in Canada will follow. We ask for your support with not only donations but feet on the ground on Nova Scotia to work with the legal team and garner support for our legal efforts.
Whether you are a manufacturer, wholesaler, distributor, retailer or consumer please consider donating to this as we need to be prepared legally to challenge this now and cannot sit and wait for a result.
If the legal action does not proceed, all funds will be returned. These funds are only intended for this legal action in Nova Scotia and will not be re-designated to another body/legal challenge in the event the Nova Scotian government does not ban flavors.
