Noxon Strong Recovery Fund

During the early morning hours February 27th a fire started in Noxon Montana at The Angry Beaver General store and quickly spread to Toby's Tavern and the Noxon Mercentile Cafe. The fire destroyed all three businesses and are a total loss. Owners, employees, residents, friends and famlies are devastated by the loss our community has experienced.

The Angry Beaver General store was our only local grocery store where many people shopped. People now have to travel 20 miles or more to shop for groceries and other supplies. The grocery store has been in Noxon since the early 1900's.

Toby's Tavern was the only local watering hole for many in the community to gather and visit. Toby's hosted many activities, Birthday parties, retirement parties and so much more. Without Toby's and the recent loss of the Hereford restaurant bar people have no place to hangout and socialize. Toby's has been a corner stone in the community since 1969 when Toby purchased the establishment.

The Mercentile Cafe was a small cafe where locals could get breakfast or lunch. The building has housed several businesses over the years with the Mercentile cafe occupying the space for the last several years.

As many people know insurance does not come quickly and often does not cover all that is lost. Clean up and disposal cost, and often with new construction and up to date code requirements the cost to rebuild exceeds what insurance is willing to pay.

100% of funds raised will go directly to rebuilding our community and helping business owners rebuild. Our efforts first objective is for clean up and disposal of debris and restoration of the property in preparation for rebuilding. We will help cover insurance deductibles and any funds beyond this we have not yet discussed. We will meet with business owners and discuss their needs. Often times insurance does not cover everything and sometimes not until a disaster happens a person realizes there is not enough insuarnce coverage. Because of the devastating fire we are left without a grocery store, a restaurant bar, and a cafe.
