Help Talen Beat Bone Cancer
Donation protected
Imagine being a vibrant athletic 13-year-old looking forward to the next season of baseball, football, and basketball and receiving a diagnosis that alters your entire life. Meet Talen a bright kid whose life was changed after being diagnosed with an aggressive bone cancer(osteosarcoma).
Osteosarcoma is a devastating disease that destroys bone and can quickly spread to other organs, so treatment must be quick and aggressive.
Talen completed his first round of chemo last week and it was tough. The meds caused side effects and he has lost 13 pounds in just the first week. This starts his 26-week chemotherapy regimen, which will include at least 19 hospitalizations each lasting 3 to 5 days. In addition to chemo, he will have a limb salvage surgery to remove the tumor and save his leg from amputation. Even facing all of this Talen’s attitude remains positive, his faith is strong, and he is determined to successfully win this battle.
This diagnosis has been crushing to Talen and his family. His parents and sisters are strong and committed to making sure that they do everything that they can to support him. The truth is this is a huge endeavor, and it will be expensive. The cost of a major medical illness is astronomical and the stream of bills will be steady.
Please help us to support Talen and his family by alleviating some of the financial burden that cancer brings with it. Cancer is very costly financially, emotionally, and physically! You can help today by donating (any amount will be a blessing), sharing this page, and praying for Talen and his family.
Talen and the Birt family are incredibly grateful for all the love, support, and prayers that they have and will continue to receive.
Thank you so much!
