Our family was given terrible news May 22, 2017 when my father was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cell carcinoma of the kidney. (Kidney cancer) Over the course of time the tumor metastasized, spread, to his head creating a second tumor underneath the brain causing permanent damage to his vision and other vital functions.
This disease, although it spread over the course of years, only became known to my father and our family 2 months ago. Within these two months my family and I have fought with insurance companies and doctors endlessly in an attempt to find him the help he needed. Everyday we were given worse news then the day before. Making our time spent with him more and more difficult as we were. Little did we know the time we had was growing shorter.
Doctors have finally given us the news that my dads brain stem is gone and we will never see him open his eyes again. We'll never hear his voice or feel his touch.
As troubling as the decision is for our family we no longer want him to suffer on a hospital bed and are now planning and making preparations for his funereal. My family and I are asking for donations for my dads viewing, burial, and any other arrangements. Any amount of kindness that can be spared would be greatly appreciated. Please help us help my father find peace. Thank you all so much.
