After the Fire Support for Pat Yardman
Donation protected
Many of you may know that Hermit’s Peak Calf Canyon fire has destroyed so much of Northern New Mexico - this also includes our father’s home. On Friday, April 22nd Pat Yardman evacuated his home, and ultimately then lost everything; the entirety of his household goods, his tools and specialty machinery for his trade, his well house, numerous vehicles and tractors, and so much more. His once beautiful property of which his home sat is now burnt to ash.
In addition to the countless sentimental items that were lost, the last keepsakes he had of his parents, grandparents and his brother also perished in the fire; things that are just truly irreplaceable and add to the overwhelming amount of grief already felt.
Our dad’s home had become the safe heaven for us to gather together and create memories as a family. More than that, though, it was his safe space, his sanctuary, his slice of heaven. To have to say that it’s all just gone - and at no fault of his own - has been so incredibly heartbreaking.
If you know our dad, you know that he isn’t a quitter and he won’t personally ask for help - which is why I’ve started this GFM on his behalf. In that same tenacious spirit, we are pushing forward. We are also asking for help by anyone that is able so that we can help him get back on his feet. His losses have been catastrophic, and it’s likely going to take another lifetime to replace everything that has been lost; but we’re hoping that with the additional help from friends, family and strangers we can get him to a point where he can at least start that rebuilding process.
If you are not able to donate, please, please help us by sharing this GFM. My brother, Daniel, our father, myself and our families are so incredibly appreciative of all of the help we have received so far and all future support. It truly means more than we will ever be able express.
Thank you so much.
