Evacuate my injured family from Gaza Strip

I am Asil Shatila from Gaza, I before survived five aggressions on Gaza by Israeli occupation. The most recent was in 2021, when I woke up shaking with our building who was bombed and ran under the fire and rubbles...

I left Gaza just before the October 2023 aggression ignited, but my direct family are stuck there (father, mother, 3 sisters, and a 13-years old brother). They got injured and in a need for medical treatment, which is a luxurious thing now in Gaza while people turn into limbs and ashes.

My life flipped upside down since the aggression started and my only dream is to reunite with my family again.

My family are all further depressed and exhausted to the extent they do not reply to my message when the network is on.

My aim in reaching out is to urgently gather funds to evacuate my family from Gaza before being martyred by Israeli occupation bombings.

My family have been severely affected by the Israeli occupation's bombings. They fled our building, running with nothing in the dead of night, only to have the next house collapse upon them.

They were pulled from the rubble, wounded. My sister, Heba, mostly broken her pelvis and hasn't been able to walk for two months. Seeking shelter at a hospital, they encountered a scene of suffering, breathing toxic fumes while sleeping on bare ground for 50 days. My father and brother resorted to sleeping on rocky streets for two months. My father's heart condition requires multiple daily medications, as he got four cardiac catheterization surgeries before.

My mother, suffering from varicose veins for 20 years and endures both mental and physical agony from prolonged ground sleeping.

Adding to our distress, just last week, we lost our only source of income: my father's small shop now obliterated by bombings. In a final devastating blow, on 21st December, our home on Al-Remal Street was bombed alongside the entire residential area.

My family is ailing, grappling with severe illnesses without access to proper treatment or basic necessities. We are now homeless, without income, and uncertain about their survival amidst this genocide.

As Israel bombs every and each place in Gaza. No place is safe, no one is safe, not a Muslim nor a Christian. The churches, mosques, schools, streets, even cemeteries have all being bombed.

I am launching this fundraiser to evacuate my family from Gaza, through the Rafah/Egypt Crossing, which currently demands a $6000 fee per person. This is the only way to survive.

When I last bid farewell to my family, I didn't imagine it could be the last time to see them!
