Online Community TV Development in NS 2021
Public broadcasting is considered a great investment for any region.
LOCAL CONTENT IS NEEDED
Although NSLive.tv was started back in 2013, the ongoing pandemic has proven what we have always known, that there is a great need for online local content and is still a huge gap when it comes to that content here in Nova Scotia. We want to fix this issue with free to watch, accessable community TV that is available around the world making it a great tourism resource..
WHAT WE HAVE NOW
Currently, the only way to watch community TV in NS requires the purchase a subscription cable service. If it's not free and readily accessable it's not a real "community oriented" service. On the flip side, this other channel has a revenue stream from these sales that we don't have but need to cover the costs of our productions. "Free to Watch" yes, but somewhere the costs have to be paid. For this we turn to the support of the public who watch, corporate sponsorships and advertising to produce high quality local content that we all can be proud of.
IT'S A LOT OF WORK
It takes considerable time effort and resources to produce quality community TV shows and we are looking to develop a variety of shows that will feature the communities, businesses and people of Nova Scotia all published online and made available for you to view on demand 24/7 for free.
WE COULD USE YOUR HELP
Operating a channel like this takes a team of dedicated people, if you would like to voluncareer to help produce shows or be a correspondent, we would be happy to take a donation of your time with the hope that you could be building a new media career for yourself.
Our shows are designed to involve and feature interesting Nova Scotians, their hobbies, businesses and the communities where these people live and work. For people beyond our borders, we are creating excellent tourism material once they open again.
One of the things your funding will allow us to do is to seek out a network of "Community Correspondents " from all around the province who would report on events and happenings in their areas. No formal training is needed, just a smartphone and the ability to talk on camera could be the start of a budding media career.
Public TV is of the people, and for the people and your donations help make it all possible.
Wild Lupin Media is owned and operated by life long Nova Scotian, Brian G. Cottam.
WLM currently supplies all the video production and livestreaming for NSLive.tv and has been in business since 1994 so we know video and we know Nova Scotia, making WLM the ideal production partner for this endeavour.
We hope you will see the benefits and possibilities your donations offer us and will consider making a donation.
Sincere Regards.
Brian G. Cottam - NSLive.tv Producer.
