Chef Nik has always been passionate about Turks and Caicos Islands Cuisine and Culture, which became the driving force to take the culinary industry to the next level. His gregarious personality and passion for food has taken him all over the world to represent the Turks and Caicos Islands. As the Turks and Caicos Culinary Ambassador, Chef Nik has made it his mission to bring TCI food and culture to the forefront for the world to see and learn about.
In 2013 Chef Nik started Crackpot Kitchen, a restaurant dedicated to the Turks and Caicos Cuisine, building on our culture and innovating it for future generations to carry on. This was exemplified by the numerous art depictions on the walls throughout his restaurant and his dishes which are all named to pay tribute to TCI culture which is unique to all of our islands.
On May 18, 2020 we watched in horror as Chef Nik's dreams and a home away from home for so many of us was engulfed in flames. The devastation is being felt throughout our community and the wider world as Nik has touched so many people, locals and visitors alike.
Immediately we knew we needed to do our part to help make Nik and his Team whole again. Our aim is to do whatever we can to allow him to continue his dream and work in his purpose. A purpose beyond self!
Chef Nik has always helped so many through his philanthropic endeavors and it's now time for us to help him. Just recently Chef Nik held an impromptu online telethon to help those in need during this pandemic; raising money to help families buy groceries and other necessities.
While we hope and anticipate the Ports of Call Plaza returning to its former state, Chef Nik and his team need our help as they try to survive during this pandemic and as they work to re-build. Crackpot Kitchen had just invested in renovations that have now been completely destroyed.
We ask you to donate whatever you can to help the Crackpot Kitchen Family at this time. With us coming together as a community we can save this important part of our culture and ensure that we all can visit once again for the great food, awesome company and beautiful smiles.
