Bushfire destroys Coondoo Mountain Bike Trail
Donation protected
For over a decade the mountain bike trail, Coondoo (near Nowra on the South Coast of NSW) has been lovingly built and maintained by volunteers from South Coast United Mountainbikers or SCUM...as we are affectionately known. The enjoyment members and visitors of all ages and abilities have had over the years, riding one of the best trails in NSW is the only payment we have received, but we consider this reward enough. Tragically, in a few short hours, all of our years of work disappeared as a result of the Currowan bushfire. SCUM are devastated, but we are not defeated. We have pledged to start again. We will restore the trails and rebuild its features.
This will take many hours of labour. We are used to that and are prepared to put in the effort required. But it will also cost a lot of money to purchase the building materials and hire the machinery required to do the trail restoration. As a small community based sporting club money is in short supply so we are asking for your help. If you are one of the thousands of riders who have enjoyed the fruits of our labour, or want to become one of those riders in the future please give generously. All money donated will be received and managed by Paul Nixon, South Coast United Mountainbikers (SCUM) Club Treasurer
Kath Hopkins, South Coast United Mountainbikers (SCUM) Club Secretary
