Melissa's Medical and Recovery fund
Donation protected
Hi, I am posting on behalf of our family/extended family and sincerely asking for help for my cousin Melissa Bower. Melissa was just 7 years old when a drunk driver hit the car she was a passenger in, leaving her permanently paralyzed and killing the driver of the car she was traveling in. The drunk driver managed to have all charges dropped against her, including all lawsuits. Despite these tragedies, Melissa was able to live a seemingly normal life, joining cheer teams, honor club, student media, getting married after high school and becoming a loving Mother to 2 beautiful children.
Living her life as a paraplegic, she faced many social issues, challenges of daily living and an abundance of medical problems. Currently, she is battling her 5th bone infection, a serious complication secondary to her being paralyzed. She has recently lost one of her medical insurance providers but Doctors have gone on to perform 2 necessary surgeries. She is now instructed to stay in a specialized hospital bed for 2 months. A gracious donation of any amount would be very much appreciated and help fund Melissa's surgeries, hospital stay, medications, and rehab services. Please help alleviate some of these expenses as Melissa faces these difficulties on her path to recovery. Thank you.
