**Sadie Rae’s Story**
Sadie was born with a rare liver disease called biliary atresia that has caused her liver to fail rapidly. She had a surgery at the end of April called a kasai to buy her some time but has been in and out of the hospital with complications since then and unfortunately the time has come for her to be placed on the pediatric liver transplant list which is why she’s at mt sinai childrens hospital in nyc. She’s currently in the icu and has had some MAJOR scares, complications, and hardships while being here including blood transfusions and NG tube placement. She desperately needs and deserves a transplant to give her the opportunity to grow and thrive which is what any parent wants for their child. Sadie has been followed and has met with many doctors, nurses, specialists, and surgeons (way to many to list) to help in all efforts to overcome this unfortunate life event. She’s been through countless tests and is now fitted with a feeding tube as she needs to gain as much weight as possible. She is currently only 9 pounds at 8 months old which makes transplanting even more dangerous and complicated. This little girl has been through so much and continues to fight for her life everyday. Any love, kind words, or donations are so beyond appreciated as insurance does not cover everything and the cost of her medical treatment is astronomical.
